Korean is really easy to read. I'll teach you how to read now. The tables will be separated into three sections. One for the Korean Hangul, one for the Romanization, and another for the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet). 모음 (vowels):

With this guide, you should be able to distinguish Korean letters now, but you may have some trouble reading still. Korean reads in an interesting way, the letters form syllables that are read as a group. For example, the word for "person" is 사람, and you would read the letters in this order: ㅅ ㅏ ㄹ ㅏ ㅁ. Korean syllables can be in groups of 2, 3, or 4. Another important thing to note is the letter 이응 or "ㅇ" or "the circle". when it is at the end of the syllable, it has a "ng" or /ŋ/ sound. However, if it appears at the beginning of a syllable, it has no sound, it merely acts as a placeholder for vowels. So you will never see a vowel by itself, it will always have an 이응 in front of it. Let's try some practice reading Korean letters. 안녕하세요? ㅇ ㅏ ㄴ ㄴ ㅕ ㅇ ㅎ ㅏ ㅅ ㅔ ㅇ ㅛ ? - a n n yeo ng h a s e - yo ? an nyeong ha se yo? You've just learned the polite way to say "Hello!" in 한국어!
